A selection of our signature sauces, celebrating classic Thai, Korean and Japanese flavours, have scooped Great Taste Awards – a highly trusted UK food and drink award scheme recognised globally. Out of more than 14,000 entries from 110 countries, just under 40% of entrants achieved awards.
The judges praised our products for their fantastic flavour and delicious, authentic taste. Entries undergo rigorous blind judging by a panel of more than 500 industry experts.
Thai Dragon Sriracha Mayo scooped a 1-star rating. The Thai Dragon range also features our classic sriracha sauce, which is the UK’s top-selling sriracha hot sauce brand.
This vegan-friendly, MSG-free sauce taps into two of the hottest food trends of recent years – hot sauce and plant-based eating. With an estimated 2.7 million UK adults now following a vegan or vegetarian diet (research from NielsenIQ), there’s growing demand for flavour-packed condiments to enhance plant-based meals. Thai Dragon’s delicious sriracha mayo offers a spicy, sophisticated alternative to traditional egg-free mayo options currently on the market.
Sun Hee Teriyaki Sauce also achieved a 1-star rating. Teriyaki sauce has played a significant role in popularising Japanese food worldwide and serves as an ideal gateway flavour for those looking to explore Japanese cuisine. Made from soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sake, teriyaki delivers a sweet-savoury balance that has made it one of the world’s most recognisable Japanese flavours. Teriyaki chicken, beef, cod and salmon are now popular options on UK menus.
Last, but certainly not least, our Sun Hee Gochujang Paste achieved a coveted 2-star rating. This fermented red chilli paste, crafted from chilli powder, glutinous rice, fermented soybeans and salt, has been instrumental in the global rise of Korean cuisine. Gochujang delivers a unique blend of heat, sweetness and umami that defines classic Korean dishes like bibimbap, tteokbokki and bulgogi. As international interest in Korean culture continues to surge – driven by K-pop, K-dramas, and Korean cinema – gochujang stands out as the defining ingredient that captures the essence of Korean cuisine’s bold, complex flavours.
Speaking about the awards, Harry Dulai, Group Chief Executive Officer at Surya Foods, said: “We’re incredibly proud to receive this recognition from the Guild of Fine Food, organisers of the Great Taste Awards.
